Dave Gutierrez - June 6, 2008 Congratulations on the new online platform informing Suffern residents on the possible implementation of 287g inside our village. We posted your link on the communitypower.tv website this morning in response to the great article by Suzan Clarke of Journal News. I am one of the community members of Community Power (hereafter CP). It is exciting to see active citizens exercise their right to be heard and to take action on that which they feel needs to happen or be changed in our society. We encourage continued dialog between Support287g and Community Power the next several months as we both present our "findings" relating to 287g. We thank you in advance for presenting the facts surrounding this issue. CP will continue to be a platform of education on many issues (including 287g). You mentioned that individuals in the community are creating fear around this issue. We will continually disuade individuals that we feel are leveraging this issue incorrectly on the "con" side of 287g. We ask that you do the same with the type of individuals you see blogging on the Lohud site after today's article. CP sees Lisa as a faciliating force in the support of 287g, and not to be singled out as someone to harass. Unfortunately, we are seeing a very passionate and scarey response of individuals singling out other community leaders like Biensy Rosa. Help us in curbing the hate and negative passion relating to this issue so that people can make an educated choice about this issue. The world is not falling apart, it is simply integrating.
